Dyalog '14 - Videos week 8

This week's user meeting videos involve the manipulation and visualisation of data and the possibilities presented by cross-platform user interfaces. Go to http://www.dyalog.com/dyalog_14/index.html to read about Dyalog '14 and follow the links to the videos.
• Stephen Mansour (Carlisle Group and University of Scranton) has developed a statistical package that takes advantage of defined operators to simplify the use of commonly used statistical functions. In "Taming Statistics with Limited-Domain Operators", Stephen details the limited-domain operators and their operands that he has constructed across the three classifications of statistical functions (summary, probability distribution and relational). He compares the results they give with those obtained through RConnect, Dyalog's interface to R and shows the graphs that can be output. http://video.dyalog.com/Dyalog14/?v=IWVe08Mbyvg
• The week 6 videos focussed on using WPF to generate User Interfaces. Brian now shows how MiServer can be used to produce web-based applications in "MiServer 3.0". The MiServer framework simplifies the generation of web content from APL, and enables the utilisation of third-party tools such as the Syncfusion libraries and jQuery. It is available on GitHub as an open source, community, project. http://video.dyalog.com/Dyalog14/?v=eLUaLIuKxk8
There will be further updates next Friday highlighting the new videos for the week. If you have any requests for specific videos that you’d like to see sooner rather than later then please let us know at usermeeting@dyalog.com and we'll see what we can do.
