Dyalog Forums

I bought a personal developer copy of Dyalog APL a while back, but never really had time to play with it. Recently, I decided to get into it, so I downloaded Bernard Legrand's excellent book "Mastering Dyalog APL".

The book talks about some companion files, available from:

I downloaded those, and in there is a workspace called "DyalogTutor_EN.dws". I extracted that, and tried to load it:

)Load c:\MasteringDyalogAPL_CompanionFiles\DyalogTutor_EN
this WS requires a later version of the interpreter.

But my Dyalog APL is:

Dyalog APL/W Version 12.0.3
Serial No : xxxxxx
Unicode Edition
Fri Sep 19 19:52:28 2014

This version should work with the companion workspace, no? (Much as I'd love to upgrade to 14, I don't think I'm ready yet)

Dyalog (and a lot of users) have mostly been to the seaside this week. I'm sure they'll get back to you soon, they're usually very good. But like a lot of software companies - best to contact them directly rather than through a forum (even though they host it, most of the activity here centres around users - and we don't have as much knowledge of the state of the folders you mention).

Personally, I'd recommend upgrading to 14.0 - there have been a lot of worthwhile improvements.

I'm glad that you're going to upgrade to 14.0.

The Mastering Dyalog companion files workspace is saved with version 12.1.

There is also an alternative of the unregistered version of 13.0 which is available here:
