Cannot see the Dyalog Session window on MS Windows

Post by Vince|Dyalog »

On MS Windows, if you cannot see the Dyalog session window when you click on its icon in the taskbar, please do the following:

1) First, Maximise the window
Press Alt+Space. If you can see a menu with Restore, Move, Size, Minimise and Maximise, choose Maximise.

Or, press Windows key + Up cursor

Or, start Task Manager, and go to the Processes tab. Click on the > button next to the "Dyalog APL Version nn.n Development Environment". Right click on the Dyalog whose window you cannot see and choose Maximise.

2) Copy this to the clipboard.

3) After maximising the Dyalog, restore it to its Window state by clicking on the middle button in the top right. This Restore button has two squares, one on top of the other one.

Focus will still be in the session window.

4) Paste in the command to set the session Position that you previously copied to the clipboard: ⎕se.⎕ws 'posn' 5 5

You should now see the session window on the primary screen.
