The user command ]FileAssociations appears to be what I need but
]fileassociations -???doesn't help a lot.

]MSWIN.FileAssociations
Change the file associations of Dyalog workspaces, applications and scripts
(.dws, .dyapp and .dyalog files)
]FileAssociations
NOTES:
∘ Only users with administrator access can use this user command.
∘ This command is only relevant if you have multiple versions of Dyalog
installed and want to change the version in which .dws, .dyalog or .dyapp
files open when double-clicked on.
I've had to revert to an older machine as I've damaged my laptop screen. It's forcing v16.0 while I currently need v18.0 which is the latest installed in it.
