APL employment

Post by ArrayMac227 »

Where can one with APL expertise go to find employment?

Do the customers of Dyalog have need for developers?

Is there an APL team that could use a 3rd person?

No response for almost a year... is it just a matter of APL users just being in their own silos, cutting off collaboration opportunities?

I would very much like to wean off using a Noncommercial license, because I have found a gig to use it on.

The issue of matchmaking among companies seeking to employ APLers, (potential) APLers seeking employment/internships, volunteer APL tutors, and those seeking to learn APL, was brought up during the Dyalog '19 user meeting. There was broad agreement that we need some sort of portal where these groups can find each other, so we will be taking a serious look at solving this now.

Regarding your license: In a few days, 17.1 will see general release including a much easier-to-deal-with licensing model, including e.g. a default 2% royalty on profits earned using Dyalog APL. Have a look at the license when you install, or contact sales@dyalog.com for details.

Good news. Has there been any progress on this, bearing in mind the world may have other concerns?

As alluded to by RichardP, the APL Wiki Jobs page has now been up for over a year, and seems to thrive, with multiple posted positions having been filled and subsequently removed.
