BTW, while you're discussing this patch-related stuff - I would like to patch all 12.1-executables at the same time, yet it seems that patch.dws does not allow me to add new lines to the grid. Is there a technical reason for this not being possible, or are my fingers too thick to hit the right key-combo?
---- Update Mar 13th: regardless of finger-size, the method to achieve the desired effect is to edit the registry (Dyalog\pick a version\patch and to copy the entries "DoPatchX", "OldFileX" and "NewFileX" (with X being a number from 1 to 4) to 5..8 and to set "PatchNumber" to 8 afterwards.
Related question: will new standalone executables now also contain a patched codebase?

Re: Base versions of Dyalog APL for Windows
We intend to revisit the whole of the patch mechanism in the next or the next but one releases; we want to be able to patch any file that is part of the Dyalog release on any platform.
Standalone executables would need to be recreated and rebound to the newly patched executables for any patches to be applied.
